Black History Month in Ontario school boards

Throughout February, school boards across Ontario are observing, learning about and celebrating Black History Month! Here at OPSBA, we are proud to join our members in recognizing and honouring the experiences, contributions and achievements of Canadians of African and Caribbean descent.

Here's just a sample of what is happening in school boards:

Halton District School Board

Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board

Peel District School Board

Toronto District School Board

Our support of Black History Month ties directly into our continued leadership and advocacy for social justice, equity and inclusion in Ontario's public education system. We believe that improving student achievement and student engagement is directly linked to ensuring that we work collaboratively to support the social, emotional, mental and physical well-being of all children and youth in our increasingly complex world.
