2nd Annual Summit On Children And Youth Mental Health, October 25—26

The Coalition for Children and Youth Mental Health is proud to announce the second annual Summit on Children and Youth Mental Health. Registration is now open! The Summit program will offer inspiration and insights for anyone interested in learning more about children and youth mental health and includes events that will have strong appeal for health professionals, educators, doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, parents, youth, trustees, teaching assistants, lawyers and government staff.

Thursday, October 25, 2012 offers a pre-Summit day with four full-day sessions that allow for in-depth learning, interactive dialogue and networking. Enrolment for these intensive sessions is limited so please register early.

The site for this year's Summit is the Allstream Centre in Toronto. Special rates have been secured at a downtown hotel and shuttle service will be available.

The main Summit program begins on the evening of Thursday, October 25 and runs all day on Friday, October 26, 2012. Early bird rates are available until September 6, 2012 and there is a special rate for participants in both the pre-Summit and main Summit.

We are delighted to offer a Summit program that features celebrity speakers, renowned experts in the field of mental health, a selection of breakout sessions, an opportunity to provide feedback to the government on the Ontario Mental Health and Addictions strategy as well as many exhibitors, posters and exhibits.

Strong children and youth mental health services and programs depend on collaboration among all our partners. We encourage you to attend with a team of individuals from your board and community to maximize sharing, networking and on-going planning.

Register now for the 2012 Small School Summit

"Living Well - The Engaged Student," Upper Canada DSB's Small School Summit will be held on October 25 and 26 at The NAV Canada Training and Conference Centre in Cornwall. The Summit will showcase programs to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual needs of students. Featured Speakers include former Barenaked Ladies singer Steven Page; Three-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Jennifer Botterill; Resiliency Initiatives President Dr. Wayne Hammond, and Comedian Patrick McKenna.

CSBA Congress 2012, July 4—7

The Québec English School Boards Association (QESBA) is proud to host Community ConneXions, this year's CSBA Congress being held at the Fairmont Château Frontenac in Québec City. There is an exciting line up of speakers.

Keynote speaker The Right Honourable Paul Martin will participate in a plenary dialogue with legendary folk singer and Aboriginal leader, Buffy Ste-Marie. Some other program highlights include a cross-Canada Town Hall panel of students hosted by CBC's Mark Kelley; a media panel featuring the Globe and Mail's Kate Hammer and CTV News Montreal Executive Producer Barry Wilson; Graham Fraser, Canada's Commissioner of Official Languages, featured in the official languages panel; a panel of four Canadian politicans, entrepreneurs, entertainers and educators, all under 30 years, who speak about their experiences; and some veteran Canadian political and community leaders who will present ideas about reaching constituents.
