Special Hotel Rate at the Metropolitan Hotel for OPSBA Members

OPSBA has renewed its agreement with the Metropolitan Hotel for preferred corporate rates for OPSBA members. The preferred corporate rate for the 2011-12 school year is $150.00. The Metropolitan Hotel is located at 108 Chestnut Street, one short block from the OPSBA offices located near University Avenue and Dundas Street West.

The corporate rate is available to all OPSBA members, and their immediate family, who travel to Toronto for either business or for personal reasons, so please share this information with other senior staff as appropriate. This agreement covers the period until June 2012, so keep this information handy for future reference.

Remember, this is a corporate rate for meetings or events other than the OPSBA Board of Directors meetings. The Board of Directors meetings have separate specific contracts in place for the Directors' accommodation and meeting space. When making room reservations, individuals should ask the hotel to "track the reservation to the Ontario Public School Boards' Association corporate account" to ensure accurate tracking of room usage by OPSBA members. This tracking is important since this agreement is based on OPSBA members using a certain quota of rooms on an annual basis.

* Important: If you do not want to incur an added daily facilities fee of $8 (for use of high-speed internet in the room, local telephone calls, access to the health club, and provision of 2 bottles of water in the guest room), please be sure to advise the front desk at check-in that you will not be accessing these services and want the $8.00 fee waived.

Please note the following features of the corporate rate:

  • If you must cancel, it must be done by 4:00 p.m. the day of arrival to avoid penalty of one night's room charge (no shows will be charged for one night).
  • When making room reservations, individuals are asked to indicate to the hotel that the reservation should be "tracked to the Ontario Public School Boards' Association corporate account" to ensure accurate tracking of room usage by OPSBA. (This is important since this agreement is based on OPSBA members using a certain quota of rooms on an annual basis.)
  • A complimentary car from the hotel to downtown locations is available by making reservations in advance with the hotel concierge.

Reservations can also be requested by email (reservations@tor.metropolitan.com)  Be sure to specify the Chestnut Street Metropolitan.
