Special Hotel Rate at the Metropolitan Hotel for OPSBA Members

OPSBA has an agreement with the Metropolitan Hotel for preferred corporate rates for OPSBA members. Located at 108 Chestnut Street in downtown Toronto, this hotel is in a very convenient location -- just one short block from the OPSBA offices. Remember, this is a corporate rate which must be requested when booking accommodation for attendance at any OPSBA meeting other than the regular Board of Directors meetings. The Board of Directors meetings are a separate and specific contract for a different meeting package. This corporate rate is also available to OPSBA members who travel to Toronto for personal reasons. 

When making room reservations, individuals should ask the hotel to "track the reservation to the Ontario Public School Boards' Association corporate account" to ensure accurate tracking of room usage by OPSBA.  This tracking is important since this agreement is based on OPSBA members using a certain quota of rooms on an annual basis.

The corporate rates, not including taxes and fees, for 2007-08 are:

The hotel blackout dates for 2007 and 2008 are:

• September 6-12, 2007
• May 17-20, 2008; and
• September 5-9, 2008

Please note the following important features of the corporate rate:

• If you must cancel, it must be done by 4:00 p.m. the day of arrival to avoid penalty of one night's room charge (no shows will be charged for one night).
• When making room reservations, individuals are asked to indicate to the hotel that the reservation should be "tracked to the Ontario Public School Boards' Association corporate account" to ensure accurate tracking of room usage by OPSBA.  (This is important since this agreement is based on OPSBA members using a certain quota of rooms on an annual basis and if they are not tracked, OPSBA will not receive credit).)
• A complimentary car from the hotel to locations in the downtown core is available by making reservations in advance with the hotel concierge.
