TechnoMath Pilot Project

Ernestown Secondary School is one of the first schools in the province to pilot the TechnoMath program in the first semester of the 2017-2018 school year. They combined Grade 10 Construction Technology and Grade 10 Applied Math. This school year, LCVI will be combing Grade 10 Applied Math and Grade 10 Hospitality.

Teachers and students saw increased levels of engagement and relationship building amongst students, leading to a more collaborative culture in the classroom. Students appeared confident and self-directed in their learning, while trying new things.

Both teachers involved with the TechnoMath program thrived in the environment where they co-planned and co-created learning activities. They believe TechnoMath is worthwhile for everyone.

The program is another great example of LDSB pillars in action. Collaboration – Innovation – Wellness.
