OPSBA Ratifies Settlement Reached with CUPE

11/6/2019

The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) is pleased to announce that it has ratified the tentative settlement that was reached with CUPE on October 6, 2019.

“Throughout this process our goal has been to negotiate an agreement that is fully-funded, fair, and fiscally responsible. This agreement will help ensure a stable and productive learning environment for our students,” said OPSBA President Cathy Abraham. “We value the contribution that education workers make to the educational experience of our students every day, and so we are extremely pleased to have ratified this agreement.”

The Association continues to actively participate in the bargaining process with OSSTF Teachers and Education Workers, ETFO Teachers and Education Workers, the Education Workers’ Alliance of Ontario and the Ontario Council of Education Workers.

The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association represents English public district school boards and public school authorities across Ontario, which together serve more than 1.3 million public elementary and secondary students. The Association advocates on behalf of the best interests and needs of the public school system in Ontario. OPSBA is seen as the credible voice of public education in Ontario and is routinely called on by the provincial government for input and advice on legislation and the impact of government policy directions.
