To recognize and celebrate students in Ontario’s public schools who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, growth, or contribution through a variety of learning pathways. This includes, but is not limited to, trades and apprenticeships, special education programs, alternative education, entrepreneurship, the arts, co-operative education, Indigenous education programs, or community service initiatives.

Criteria
The student has demonstrated commitment, growth, or excellence in a learning pathway (e.g., Specialist High Skills Major [SHSM], Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program [OYAP], arts-based program, community engagement, life skills or transition program)
Achievements may include certifications, projects, performances, community initiatives, or personal milestones
The student has shown resilience, adaptability, or determination in pursuing their pathway
Consideration is given to students who have overcome personal, social, or systemic challenges to reach success
The student’s pathway success has positively impacted their school or community through leadership, service, mentorship, or advocacy
The student has demonstrated creative thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, or leadership within their chosen pathway
Reflects OPSBA’s priorities around equity, inclusion, student well-being, and public education excellence
Nomination Information Checklist
Eligibility
Secondary students enrolled in an Ontario English public school
Students must be nominated by an educator, administrator, or guidance counsellor
Nominees should demonstrate success or growth through at least one non-traditional learning pathway
Students from all regions, backgrounds, and abilities are encouraged to be nominated
