We invite you to join OPSBA’s next Speakers Series event on Thursday, April 8 at noon. We are excited to welcome Tyler Stewart from the iconic Canadian music group Barenaked Ladies!
The Arts & Public Education
Tyler understands the importance of including the arts in our curriculum & schools and how these opportunities help the learning process for so many students. Tyler will join trustees to share his story and talk about what an arts education did for him as an extroverted and at times disruptive youth:
“Without elementary and high school music programs, drama clubs, and variety nights – I probably would’ve fallen through the cracks of the education system. In fact, our entire band feels the same way, and we thanked all music educators everywhere during our Canadian Music Hall of Fame induction speech at the 2018 Juno Awards.”
Trustees will have the opportunity for a Q & A with Tyler after his presentation.
This series is offered free of charge. Registration is not required, but for our planning purposes, please send a quick email to Kendra Devine at kdevine@opsba.org indicating you plan to attend.
Join us via Zoom on Thursday, April 8 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

About the OPSBA Speaker and Professional Development Series
Every second Thursday from February to May, OPSBA offers online lunchtime speakers and professional development sessions for trustees. We invite you to grab your lunch and connect with fellow trustees while we bring you inspiring speakers and virtual workshops. The sessions will help you build capacity and thrive as boards respond to the challenges of the pandemic and other critical educational issues.
