OPSBA has a record of advocacy for the role of schools in responding to the needs of the whole child and their readiness to learn. Success in school should be within the reach of every child and we are aware that living in poverty can have far-reaching implications for a child’s readiness to gain from the learning experiences in the classroom. OPSBA has continuously given prominence to poverty reduction in its priorities for action.
