We know that through teaching and learning in our schools, we can move towards a Canada where the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians is founded on mutual respect.

To support the Calls to Action of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), school boards are recognizing Treaties Recognition Week, from November 2 to 6, 2021. The goal is to promote public education and awareness about the history and importance of treaties and treaty relationships and by planning curriculum-linked learning activities about treaties during the school year, teachers are helping to promote awareness of treaties in the broader public.
